Parenting
at School
The first school
a child goes to is often referred to as a ‘Kindergarten’.
This is a place
which helps in nurturing the Childs brain for creativity and learning new things
in life at the same time preparing the child physically for the stresses of
the future life. A teacher thus acts as a parent for the child at school.
Importance
of Play
Play is the way
that the children learn about themselves and the world they live in the process
of mastering familiar situations and learning to cope with new ones, their intelligence
and personality grow, as well as their bodies. The environment for play must
be rich in experience, and it must be, to a significant extent, under the control
of the child. It must allow each child to exercise choice and to grow, safely
at his own rate. If these qualities are present, environments for play can be
created almost anywhere- including our homes, Parks, on the roadside etc.
Working
in Tandem
Good parenting
is as important for children as it is for Parents. A child , who takes his first
step into school, is confused and puzzled as for the first time since his birth,
he is staying away from his parents, among unknown and unfamiliar faces. He
can adapt to the new environment only if he gets an atmosphere similar to the
one at home. So in this environment the first thing a child will look for is
his parent and the teacher has to assume the role of a parent at least for the
time the child is in school. This builds a trust in the child’s mind for the
teacher which is very important for the learning to start. Parents and teachers
working together take the hassle out of work at school and at home and helps
children adapt to the environment faster and better.
