PUMPKINS . . . WHERE WORK IS
PLAY What sets PUMPKINS KINDERGARTEN apart from all the rest? It’s more than programs that are carefully researched and thoughtfully taught, it’s the fact that we at Pumpkins approach everyday with imagination, innovation and, most of all, fun! Studies have found that learning improves when children are engaged in an enjoyable and meaningful activity. That’s why every curriculum at ‘Pumpkins’ includes a variety of intriguing activities that stimulate early brain development with a focus on creative play. And although it may all look like kids having fun, it’s also learning in action. It’s just another way that we make sure our children get the most out of their preschool experience. Additionally, we spend a lot of time just listening to and talking with our students. This type of positive interaction encourages the development of emotional, language, and social skills and enhances the development of a positive self-esteem. We also provide lots of opportunities for each child to develop personal interests at his or her own pace. To ensure that children are kept interested, excited, and engaged in learning, we've incorporated outstanding curriculums that are just the right fit for a young child. Education is best delivered when it is more in accord with one’s natural surroundings and becomes surreal when the spontaneity and creativity are not curbed. The idea is to provide excellent guidance to a child and not the didactic lessons aimed at ensuring conformity and discouraging ingenuity. Pumpkins Kindergarten ----the name that spells a modern outlook on teaching, learning and parenting, is housed in perfect place that suits the needs of tiny tots who are in the process of beginning their intellectual journey to formal education. Here we aim at providing an atmosphere very similar to the ‘garden of nature’ where the creativity of a child’s mind is developed and nurtured through mental, physical and social activities in a nature friendly environment. The emphasis here is to encourage a child to play and participate in specialized activities, which help him to learn and stimulate his inbuilt creative self. The staff and founders of the school realize that seventy percent of the learning in a human’s life takes place during his formative years i.e. the first five years and we at pumpkins take pride that we have given this vital fact its due importance as we encourage the child to learn rather than bind him in compulsive chains. The modus operandi of achieving our aim of creative and quality education is changing the concept of classrooms into home-bases wherein 20-25 children are supervised by two credentialed teachers. Here the play-way and Montessori methods work in fusion and rigidity of confining the child to a particular area is done away with. The choice of apt furniture further enhances the mood. The school is so designed that the indoor four walled structure becomes an auxiliary to the main activity area that is the natural surroundings. The creative landscape further adds a dimension to the learning ambience where the idea is teaching-through-playing. In addition to play areas of varied sizes, the school also has several outdoor games e.g. sand area; water area, amphitheatre, dolls corner, block corners, library, musical wall and other kid-centered attractions. The school does not believe that the real education ends once the child steps out of the school premises but it believes in the philosophy that good parenting is the key to achieving the perfect grooming of a child. Therefore, the school encourages the idea that both the parents and the school work together to achieve the desired results. We, from Pumpkins would make sure the regular feed back, work assignments and other relevant material is sent to you in time. “home supervised activities will be provided which will reinforce and support the teaching –learning process. Pumpkins is being promoted by Ms. Balie Kler, who started her professional career in southern California, USA and thereon decided to devote her life to children’s education and thus opened her own school. The curriculum and style of teaching is in accordance with internationally accepted standards. She is being assisted by her husband Sandeep Kler who is an engineer by profession. |
